TE DESEO- A Dallas Hotspot

Read below to see what we thought about the food, decor, drinks, location and so much more!

One thing I love about Dallas Texas is that it has some of the best food, and coolest bars in the country. On our one week visit to see some friends there, my boyfriend and I wanted to explore all different types of cuisine, and when we heard about Te Deseo we knew we had to stop by. Not only did the Instagram images make it look cool, and like a fun party vibe but it was a Latin American Restaurant! My boyfriend and I love some Latin American food! Insert night trip to Te Deseo.

Let me start off by being super honest here, my friends and I came here just for appetizers and it was our third stop of the evening (so sorry for some of the picture quality LOL). I am going to rate this place, based on our experience, in the following categories: Ambiance, Food & Drink, Service, Price, Location, and Instagram Worthiness.

Ambiance: 5/5

Latin music fills your ears as soon as you walk in; dim, sensual lighting makes you feel like you're in some sort of sexy club. As you progress through the restaurant, chic, innovate decor makes you feel like you have stepped into the land of fairytales. I personally loved the decor in this place.

In their main room they have a giant tree blooming with all of these roses, and around the entire restaurant they have a sort of swanky chic meets spicy latin vibe going on. Lighting is dim throughout the entirety of the restaurant, so if you are someone who has trouble seeing in dim light, or have someone with you that has a hard time seeing in dim light that could be a challenge; but for me personally I think it added to the overall vibe of the place. Definitely feels like a cool spot to hang out and grab some food and cocktails!

Food & Drink: 4/5

Our original plan was to have dinner here before heading out to a couple more bars. However, upon viewing the menu a few members of our group thought that the prices were a little on the high side, so we opted for just getting a couple appetizers.

I will say that I thought the food was delicious (hence why there are no pictures of it because we just gobbled it up). The price was not insanely high but if you are looking for a budget meal this would not be the place. This is the place to go if you want to have a slightly upscale dinner experience. Here is a link to their dinner menu so you can gauge the items and prices for yourself: Dinner Menu

Their drinks were strong and delicious! I will warn you that the spicy margarita is in fact quite spicy, so if you are not a brave soul when it comes to spice stay clear of that one!

Service: 3/5

I gave this a 3 out of 5 because unfortunately our server had a little bit of an attitude towards us when she found out we were just ordering cocktails and appetizers. In addition when we went up to the rooftop bar, it took some time to get drinks, and it was not very crowded at the time that we went. However I do recognize that we only interacted with 2-3 of the staff at this establishment and it does not reflect the entirety of the staff working there. The service did not sway our opinion of this place one way or the other.

Price: 3/5

As I stated in the food section, the items on the menu here are on the higher end of the price scale.

The cocktails range from $13-$15 (which I didn't think was too bad especially given the fact that they were on the stronger side)

Here is their dinner menu: Dinner Menu

Examples of prices you can expect:

  • $14 Cesar Salad

  • $17 Charred Octopus

  • $44 Sea Bass

Location: 5/5

Te Deseo is located in Dallas Harwood district and is close to various other bars and restaurants. One of those that it is closest to is Happiest Hour (another really fun place). I liked the location of this place because we were able to walk to other places from it so it felt like it was in the heart of a really fun zone.

Instagram Worthiness: 4/5

As you have probably guessed if you have read this far, I really liked the overall vibe of this place. I think there are a ton of cute instagram spots inside of the restaurant because of the varying fun wallpapers and decor, not to mention the really cool giant tree! But it is a restaurant so trying to get shots without people enjoying their dinner can be a challenge. Probably one of the best spots is up on the rooftop under the Te Deseo sign, made of roses! Also be sure to catch a picture with the city skyline behind you!

Hope this gave you the inside scoop! If you go to Te Deseo tag me on Instagram @steph_into_the_unknown and leave a comment below this post to let me know how your experience was! Enjoy :)

Until next time,

Steph
